"Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn." ~ Elizabeth Lawrence

Saying Goodbye

The season changes, and so do we. It is bittersweet for me writing this letter. There is much transition in the spa as well as the world.

Our hearts go out to those evacuated in the fourmile fire, and those who have lost their homes. We would like to help those in need and the firefighters who have worked day and night to contain the blaze by extending Pay-What-You-Can any day of the week for any service up to one hour. We will help you find a price that feels right. If you are not comfortable with the PWYC concept, we would like to extend a 30% discount on services.

This month, we honor and say goodbye to several technicians who have been with us long-term, putting their heart and soul along with countless hours in to become a true Sensorielle family member. They will always remain cousins in our hearts.

Amelia Vargas-Marin has worked with the spa since we opened our doors. Amelia was our lead esthetician and acupuncturist. Seeing all the stages of our growth, she has been an integral influence of who we have become. She is making a move to Costa Rica and start a new life there. While it feels like a great loss, we are excited for her and wish her well in her journey. We plan to stay in touch developing new business and personal connections. Erika is our new acupuncturist, and very skilled at her trade. She is experienced in the facial renewal treatment, and is a Reiki Master. Erika is interested in training in Ayurveda and Acutonics. Lisa gives incredibly relaxing Acutonics Harmonizing facials.

Melissa Carey is changing her focus, going to school, and building her yoga and teaching practice. Melissa has been at the spa for a couple years, and has built a very nice clientele. We will miss Melissa's healing hands and sparkly personality. Lani is our newest Thai Massage therapist. Meredith is in training for Thai Massage and combined with her extensive massage experience, we know she will be amazing once she is ready to work on clients. Rebecca is highly experienced in Table Thai. If you are Melissa's client, let us help you find the best therapist to fit your needs.

Kayla Frost is going to school full-time and needed to find a job with more steady hours. You might see Kayla around occasionally to sub. Kayla has been one of our best employees. Always present, ready to go and willing to help out wherever we needed, and her sweet disposition always made us smile. We will miss Kayla, and wish her luck with her studies. If you are a client of Kayla's, let us help you pair up with the best esthetician for you.

Jade Lascelles has been a spa coordinator over the past year+. Jade got an offer she couldn't refuse and was ready for a change. We wish her well. We are still interviewing to fill her full-time position. Jade's calm demeanor, helpful inspiring attitude, and presence will be difficult to replace! You will see her around filling in occasionally.

Clasina Smith is changing her position to Marketing Manager. If you have marketing ideas, donation requests, workshop requests, etc... please feel free to send Clasina an email: clasina@sensoriellespa.com. Clasina's outgoing, firey, personality and creative thinking will be a great fit for Sensorielle Marketing.

So many changes and we have many new smiling faces at the spa. We encourage you to come in and see our newest additions. We are selective about who we choose to work with, and each of our therapists has a great ability to be present in the calm, healing atmosphere we have created. Namaste,

Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese art dating back to approximately 1200 A.D. Tai chi is practiced for health and self-defense. It is easy to learn, needs no special equipment, can be practiced anywhere in a minimum amount of space, and is suitable for everyone, young and old.

Wu Style Tai Chi consists of 108 movements practiced in a slow, relaxed manner. The mind becomes very calm and blood circulates freely to all parts of the body, making the internal organs strong. The unity of movement, breathing and concentration contributes greatly to physical and mental health.

Tai Chi Chuan relies on internal power. Many of the moves are soft and yielding, turning an opponent's power back against themselves. Contrary to its gentle appearance, Tai Chi at its advanced stages of training, becomes an effective martial art. As in all styles of kung fu, however, proficiency in self-defense requires dedication and consistent practice.

H2T Astrology for the month of Sept. 2010

This month continues the Virgo push to cleanse out the old - to purify our body mind and soul. Virgo rules the systems of assimilation in our body, such as our digestion and elimination. With Mercury retrograde in Virgo until Sept. 12th we have and opportunity to re-view how we fuel our bodies. Take a look at what needs to change in your life around how you eat and what you eat. The last several months of astrological tension and transformation has taken its toll on most of us - especially physically. Be kind to yourself. Find the necessary support that you need in order to heal old illnesses or unexpected wounds that may have surfaced during this time. The key to this healing? Really make those "must do" changes in your health regime. Do this by imagining your new personal health system. Build the structures you so need in your life in order to facilitate the change that is upon us! You will be healthier, wealthier and wiser in the long haul.

Seeking more info on how these astrological turnings apply to You? Call Sylvia Wyant, MLS for your astrological interpretation. 303.448.1477 www.headtotoeastrology.com

Eat well, Live well, Be well.
