Meet Our Newest Practitioners!
Andrew Pollak - Massage Therapy
Andrew began his career in massage therapy during the height of
his quarter-century existential inquiry. In his quest to evolve and
progress spiritually, he soon learned that intellectual divinity would
only take him so far and that deep healing in the physical and
emotional bodies is necessary throughout one's spiritual practice.
Indeed, we hold our issues in our tissues and talking about our
neuroses is like working away at an iceberg with but a pair of
disposable chopsticks.
Andrew specializes in Intuitive Relaxation Massage, Deep-Tissue
Therapy, Zen Shiatsu, Hot Stone, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Trauma Work,
and Pre-Natal and Post-Partum Massage. He finds that despite his
extensive training, the true magic of massage happens the moment he
lets go of his agenda and expectations and simply allows the body to
show him what it wants to work on that session.
Andrew has also lived and worked in Japan, France and Canada, and
has found that his multicultural and multilingual foundations serve
him well to think outside the box and approach each situation
organically.
Andrew Pollak is a Certified and State-Registered Massage
Therapist who has also completed the Associate of Occupational Studies
(AOS) in Advanced Bodywork Studies at the Boulder College of Massage
Therapy. He has been in practice since March 2008. He is available
at the spa on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Denise Powell - Massage Therapist
We are excited to welcome Denise to Boulder. Denise is a strong deep tissue and thai massage therapist who has an extensive background working in high-end hotels and spas in New York. Denise wants to build a steady clientele and is currently available Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Sarah Gregonis - Massage Therapist
Sarah recently graduated from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. She is talented in providing sports and deep tissue massage in conjunction with a full body relaxation session. Sarah aspires to continue her education in BCMT's AOS program. She is currently available on Friday evenings at the spa and is also working for us at Sunflower Market providing chair massage on Wednesdays 3-6.
Jan Waller - Massage Therapist
Jan's magic hands will ease you into a deep state of relaxation. Her full-body relaxation skills are complemented by energetic healing. Jan is a Reiki Master and has experience in Watsu, Hot Stone, and Prenatal massage.
Joy Sommerer - Esthetician
Joy recently relocated to Boulder from Arizona where she has many years of practice in facials and waxing. Joy has an amazingly compassionate presence and her facials are exquisitely relaxing and attentive.
Lisa Cutcheon - Esthetician
Lisa has been working at Sensorielle since early this year. Her facials receive excellent feedback from clients as being highly relaxing ("the best facial I've ever had"). Lisa loves to spend time in a facial performing deep and thorough extractions. Around the spa, we refer to Lisa as "the extraction queen".
Melanie Sukenik - Esthetician, WELCOME BACK!
Melanie has been with Sensorielle almost 3 years, and has recently returned from maternity leave.
Melanie believes having a healthy mind and body reflects on your skin first. Melanie's approach to skincare includes ayurvedic balancing treatments, natural enzyme peels tailored to a person's individual needs. She is also skilled at waxing, and enjoys shaping eyebrows. Her favorite hobbies include art, hiking, and music. Welcome back Melanie!!! Keep watching our newsletter for a picture of the newest addition to her family (it is our mission to have a camera around this month to catch a photo opportunity). Melanie is currently available Thursday-Saturday
We welcome you to request an appointment with the above technicians and receive 10% off your first treatment with each of them. Each of our practitioners is unique in their talents and provides a variety of modalities to fit our clients' specific needs. We take pride in the fact that we carefully select the most skilled and well-rounded technicians we can find. More information about these practitioners, bios and photos, will be posted on our therapist page in the near future.

October Astrology with Sylvia L. Wyant
 |
Well hold onto your hats Ladies and Gents, as the month of October will bring us lots of "opportunities for growth". Mercury turns direct on September 29th in Virgo - thus the rough month of technology nightmares - this then ushers in October with the full moon in Aires on Oct. 4-5th. Add this to Jupiter and Chiron moving direct in the sign of Aquarius (10/12 and 10/30, respectively), then mix in Saturn moving into Libra on the 29th, and we have got an interesting astrological cocktail to swallow.
Translated - Our communication efforts need to be balanced, yet strong in voicing our individual needs, particularly as it relates to how YOU intend to create a new life for yourself, in balance with the needs of your community. A life that not only heals you but brings your fellow man, woman and child along for the deal as well. Because with Saturn entering the sign of relatedness/relationship for the next 3 years - what does not serve the common good, will not serve you, and vice versa. So let yourself think outside the box to solve real issues - like finding what you value and valuing what you find - like really, really eating a healthy diet that keeps your body running at optimal speed. This IS the time to put your new health plan to work for you, your family and your community. Take time to care for your body/life, so your body is ready to care for others!

The Crystal Corner
The Mystery of Moonstone
The elemental guardian of Moonstone is Wind, associated with intuition and the goddess, which encourages one to pay attention to the cycles of life. Its crystal system is monoclinic and prismatic and was named after its blue-white sheen. It is found in Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Burma, Australia, India, and the United States. Varieties of Moonstone include: Cat's Eye Moonstone; Gray Moonstone; Peach Moonstone; White Moonstone and Rainbow Moonstone. My spotlight will be on Rainbow Moonstone.
Self-discovery is an important healing process to go through as well as learning to flow with the natural pace of Divine timing. Each cycle is a growth process and must be embraced before we move to the next level of wisdom. Moonstone can help sort through emotions so that a higher perspective of meaning and purpose is reached. Traditionally, Moonstone will tune one to the ebb and flow of the moon's energy. The pull of the moon is a proven fact thru the centuries of time by its recorded effect on all beings upon the planet Earth. The term 'lunatic' referred originally to someone believed to be 'moonstruck.'
Moonstone initiates the kundalini energy in females and awakens the right side of the brain, encouraging nonlinear thinking and emotional balance in males. In both sexes it can aid in clearing the aura, activating the Third Eye and Crown Chakras and the central spinal column of energy. Rainbow Moonstones vibrate at a higher level than the other varieties bringing a powerful alignment to all the chakras as well as a clear sense of groundedness and centeredness. Rainbow Moonstone is good for psychic protection and easing emotional trauma bringing with it the gifts of inner peace and harmony. Another most important aspect of its healing is to balance and integrate the male/female. To deny your other half means you will always be searching for a lost part of yourself (the fantasy twin soul) - what people refer to as their other half, outside of self, which can only be found within the self. In other words, the REAL twin soul is you!
This work is done thru the shamanic process of soul retrieval. Empower yourself and step up to the challenge of mystery, self-discovery, intuition, insight, dreams, and the wisdom of the goddess as the Rainbow Moonstone awaits your heartfelt calling. Sweet dreams and visions!
